Artists Bluff in Franconia Notch State Park is perhaps the most famous photo spots in all of New Hampshire. The bluff is a beautiful rocky overlook that features sweeping views of Franconia Notch including Echo Lake, Cannon Mountain, and many other peaks. The overlook can hold dozens of people and it is most popular in the fall when the vibrant foliage is thriving. There truly is nothing like hiking Artists Bluff in the fall, but it is truly beautiful during all seasons.
Artists Bluff is extremely popular due to its beautiful view and also its easy access. The loop trail that includes Artists Bluff is only 1.5 miles and it is rated as moderate. Although steep in some areas, it can definitely be completed by kids and dogs. In total, the hike to the overlook only takes 1-1.5 hours, depending on how much time you spend at the viewpoint.
