About This Location

Beaver Brook Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in Belmont, Massachusetts, right on the border of Waltham, Massachusetts. The waterfall has a total height of 30 feet and it can be found along Beaver Brook. Beaver Brook flows strongest during the springtime when the snow melts and after heavy rainstorms. Considering the flow can be managed by the dam, this waterfall sometimes only has a trickle in the dry summer months. Although it is best to explore this waterfall in the spring, Beaver Brook Falls is a great spot to visit year-round. Plus, it’s super close to Boston!

The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation consisting of the dam at the top, followed by cascades, and a 5-foot plunge at the bottom. Accessing the waterfall is relatively easy. The waterfall is located in the Beaver Brook Reservation which features a well-marked trail to the waterfall. Visitors can park in the large parking lot at 66 Mill Street and then hike to the falls. The walk to the falls is only 0.1 miles each way. The waterfall trail is family-friendly and a great way to get some steps in.

Dogs are also allowed on the trail and through the entirety of Beaver Brook Reservation. The waterfall is no extremely popular, but the park itself does get busy on the weekends. Luckily, if you visit in the off-season (when the water flow is best) you should not run into too many people.
