Black Pond State Wildlife Area

Description

Black Pond State Wildlife Area is a beautiful park in Meriden, Connecticut. It’s a great area for hiking, fishing, snowshoeing, photography, and more!

Visitors are welcome to trek up the cliffs around Black Pond. This hike features lovely views of the pond and surrounding area. The cliffs down to the pond can drop some 200 feet which makes them a sight to see! Hikers can also opt to hike up Besek Mountain from the Black Pond State Wildlife Area parking area via the Mattabesett Trail. This mountain is 850 feet tall and boasts amazing views.
