Description
Bridal Veil Falls is a spectacular 5-star-rated waterfall located in Franconia, New Hampshire. The waterfall has a total height of 80 feet and it can be found along Coppermine Brook. Although Coppermine Brook features good water levels year-round, it is best to visit the waterfall during the spring when the brook is flowing strongest. Bridal Veil Falls can often be seen flowing at full force during the months of March, April, and May. That said, Bridal Veil Falls is a wonderful place to visit year-round.
The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation that separates it from all other waterfalls in New Hampshire. It features a massive 40-foot plunge that drops onto a series of slides. There is a small pool at the base of the waterfall which some people do swim in.
Accessing the waterfall does require a bit of a hike, but it is well worth it! The waterfall is located in the White Mountain National Forest which is notorious for having an amazing trail system. To access Bridal Veil Falls, visitors must hike the Coppermine Trail. Visitors can park at the trailhead located on Coppermine Road and then hike the trail for 2.4 miles up to the waterfall. The trail is well-maintained but does feature a fair amount of elevation gain. Ultimately, hiking out and back to the waterfall is 4.8 miles and the elevation gain is 1,079 feet. The trail is rated as moderate.
