Buttermilk Falls (Norfolk, CT)

Description

Buttermilk Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in Norfolk, Connecticut. The waterfall has a total height of 20 feet and it can be found along the Blackberry River. The Blackberry River flows strongest during spring when the snow melts and after heavy rainstorms. Although it is best to explore the waterfall in the spring, Buttermilk Falls in Norfolk is a great spot to visit year-round. The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation consisting of cascades, slides, and a fan.

Accessing the waterfall is relatively easy, but parking can be tricky. The waterfall is located on land owned by the town of Norfolk, but no park has been established around the falls. Since there is no dedicated parking area, one option is to park at the nearby City Meadow Boardwalk Trail and then walk down the road to the falls.
