Chapins Memorial Beach

Description

Chapin Memorial Beach, more commonly known as Chapin Beach, is a lovely spot in Dennis, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. The beach stretches for about a mile along Cape Cod Bay. Chapin Beach is considered by many to be the best beach on Cape Cod because of its huge size, white sand, and gentle surf. It is also one of the greatest spots to see the sunset on Cape Cod.

A key feature of the beach is its tidal flats. At low tide, tidal flats appear for hundreds of yards and expand the size of the beach significantly. This allows visitors to walk far out on the beach and check out the many tide pools that form. Kids especially enjoy these pools which often hold hermit crabs, little fish, and shells. When the tide is super low, visitors can even walk to nearby Grays Beach and its boardwalk!

There is a small parking lot at the beach which does fill up quickly during the summer months. It is best to go early to grab a spot. This small parking lot does make Chapin Beach far less crowded than nearby Mayflower Beach. In the off-season, there is no fee to visit the beach, but during the summer a small price is charged to park.
