Description
Chapman Pond Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in East Haddam, Connecticut. The waterfall has a total height of 10 feet and it can be found along an unnamed brook. The brook flows strongest during spring when the snow melts and after heavy rainstorms. Although it is best to explore the waterfall in the spring, Chapman Pond Falls is a great spot to visit year-round. The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation consisting of cascades and slides.
Accessing the waterfall is relatively easy. The waterfall is located in the Chapman Pond Preserve which features a well-marked trail system. Visitors can park just off River Road and then hike 0.9 miles one-way to the falls. There is also a 3 mile loop trail which will take visitors to the falls and beyond. The waterfall trail is family-friendly and a great way to get some hiking in. Dogs are sadly not allowed in the Chapman Pond Preserve.
