Cliff Trail on Isle Au Haut

Description

Isle au Haut is a beautiful Maine island located in Penobscot Bay. The founder of the island community donated half of the island to Acadia National Park in 1943. Acadia National Park created and maintains the Cliff Trail which can be found at the southwestern tip of the island. The loop trail allows hikers to take in the dramatic and inspiring scenery. Visitors venture up and down the cliffs and along rocky beaches to take in the endless ocean views.

Visitors of the island often take the Isle du Haut mailboat which picks up and drops off at Duck Harbor. Duck Harbor is very close to the trailhead for Cliff Trail on Isle Au Haut. Here is more information on hiking the trail: alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/maine/western-head-and-cliff-trails
