Dalton Covered Bridge is a beautiful covered bridge located in Warner, New Hampshire. The bridge was built in 1853 to allow traffic to go over the Warner River.  The bridge spans 77 feet long and is about 18 feet wide. It is currently open to pedestrians and cars. Dalton Covered Bridge features a wonderful design consisting of a long truss with an auxiliary Queenpost system

On November 21, 1976, this covered bridge received the honor of being listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of the Nation’s historic places worthy of preservation. Authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect America’s historic and archeological resources. The NRHP Reference number for the Dalton Covered Bridge is 76000221.

Accessing the covered bridge is extremely easy thanks to the parking area located just north of the bridge off Joppa Road. Parking is free and ample.

Parking Notes:
There is a small dirt parking area located just steps from the northern entrance to the bridge. The dirt lot can hold about 3 cars and parking is free.
