Fairfax Falls, also known as Fairfax Hydro Falls, is a nice roadside waterfall located in Fairfax, Vermont. The waterfall has a total height of about 80 feet and it can be found along the Lamoille River. Lamoille River features a very large watershed and for this reason, the falls can often be seen roaring any day of the year. Ultimately, they are great to visit year-round.

The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation. Fairfax Falls was originally a massive natural waterfall. In 1918, a hydroelectric dam was constructed at the falls to generate power for the growing area. This power station is a bit of an eye sore, but the waterfall itself is beautiful.

Accessing the waterfall is super easy. The land surrounding the waterfall is owned by the Green Mountain Power Corporation, but visitors have long been welcomed to explore the falls in designated areas. Of course, the dam and dam structures are completely off-limits. But visitors can walk down to the side of the river to view the falls and also enjoy the roaring water from a small public park. Parking in the designated area is free.
