First United Church of Christ

Description

The First United Church of Christ is a stunning chapel located in Milford, Connecticut. The history of the First United Church of Christ dates back to August 22, 1639 when the First Church was organized in New Haven by the Reverend Peter Prudden and a company of fifteen families. Over the years, the church grew and a second meeting house was built. The current meetinghouse is the third meetinghouse and it was constructed in the early 19th century. The church stands out with its 4 large columns on its front exterior and its tall white steeple.

If you’re looking to get a great photo of the chapel, you can walk behind the Milford Connecticut Courthouse. There you will find a stunning waterfall, which is often referred to as the Lower Lagoon. The church and waterfall photo is an instant classic!

Walnut Beach is only about 2 miles from the church.
