Gibbs Falls is a gorgeous waterfall located in Bean's Grant, New Hampshire. The waterfall has a complete height of 35 feet and can be found along Gibbs Brook, hence its name. Gibbs Brook flows strongest during spring when the snow melts. Many photographers flock to the falls during the months of March, April, and May to capture it at full force. That said, Gibbs Falls features solid flow year-round and is a great spot to visit on any day of the year. The waterfall itself drops in a unique horsetail formation.
Accessing the waterfall is relatively easy. The waterfall is located in the White Mountain National Forest which features an extensive and well-marked trail system. Visitors can park at the Crawford Notch Depot and then hike up Crawford Path to the falls. The total hike to the waterfall is .40 miles one-way. Ultimately, the out-and-back hike is .80 miles and features an elevation gain of 272 feet.
The waterfall trail is family-friendly and a great way to get some hiking in. Dogs are also allowed on the trail and at the waterfall. If you’re feeling adventurous, follow Crawford Path all the way up to Mount Pierce.
