Gleason Brook Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in Bolton, Vermont. The waterfall drops about 50 feet and it can be found along Gleason Brook, hence its name. This brook is relatively seasonal and it flows strongest during spring when the snow melts and also after heavy rainstorms. Considering the water flow is often greatest in the spring, the months of April, May, and June are recommended for visitors hoping to see the falls in peak conditions. That said, Gleason Brook Falls is a great spot to visit year-round. The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation consisting of cascades and horsetails.

Accessing the waterfall is relatively easy. The waterfall is located in the Camels Hump State Park which features an extensive and well-marked trail system. Visitors can park in a small dirt parking area along Duxbury Road which has direct access to the Duxbury Window Trail. Hike the trail for 0.80 miles to reach the waterfall. It should be noted that the trail is also known as the “Long Trail.”

Ultimately, the waterfall trail is family-friendly and a great route to get some hiking in. Dogs are also allowed on the trail and through the entirety of Camels Hump State Park. In total, the hike out-and-back to the waterfall is 1.60 miles and features 378 feet of elevation gain.
