Description
Hopp Brook Falls is a small and hidden waterfall located in Vernon, Connecticut. The waterfall has a total height of 15 feet and it can be found along Hopp Brook. Hopp Brook features very little waterflow for most of the year. This means there is usually just a trickle of water flowing down the falls. That said, if you are able to visit during the spring when the snow is melting or after a heavy rainstorm, the waterfall can be a great sight to see!
The waterfall itself is extremely steep and most of it is covered in thick moss. In terms of the formation of the waterfall, Hopp Brook Falls features a number of small plunges. The plunges are beautiful when the watershed is large.
Accessing the waterfall is super quick and easy. The waterfall is located on conversation land which features a well-marked trail system. Visitors can park in a dirt lot along Falls Road and then hike just 350 feet up the brook to see the falls. The waterfall trail is family-friendly due to its short length. Dogs are also welcome to hike to the falls.
