Nancy Cascades is an epic 5-star-rated waterfall located in Livermore, New Hampshire. The waterfall has a total height of 120 feet and can be found along Nancy Brook. Nancy Brook is relatively seasonal, so it is best to visit during the springtime to see the most water flowing. It is best to visit the falls during the months of March, April, and May to see the waterfall looking their best. That said, the brook flows well year-round and the waterfall is great to visit any day of the year.
The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation consisting of horsetails and cascades. There are two main drops that make up the falls. The lower falls are about 45 feet and the upper falls are about 80 feet. Although the pool at the base of the falls is beautiful and tempting on summer days, it is not the best for swimming. It is often pretty dark. Ultimately, this is one of the most picturesque waterfalls in the state!
To find the beautiful waterfall, some hiking is required. The waterfall is located in the White Mountain National Forest which features a well-maintained and extensive trail system. Visitors can park at the Nancy Pond Trailhead right off Crawford Notch Road and then hike up to the falls. The hike up to the falls is all along the Nancy Pond Trail and it is 2.4 miles. To hike out and back, the hike is 4.8 miles and features 938 feet of elevation gain. It is rated as moderate. Dogs are welcome!
