About This Location

Nineveh Falls is a nice little waterfall located in Madison, Connecticut right on the border of Killingworth. The waterfall has a total height of about 8 feet and it can be found along the Hammonasset River. The river flows strongest during spring when the snow melts and after heavy rainstorms. It can also be influenced by the dam upstream. Although it is usually best to explore the waterfall in the spring, Nineveh Falls is a great spot to visit year-round. The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation consisting of a series of cascades rushing through large rocks.

Accessing the waterfall is extremely easy. The waterfall is located in conservation land owned by the towns of Killingworth and Madison, which features a well-marked trail system. Visitors can park along the side of Old Toll Road to the east of the falls. The walk to the waterfall is just a little over 100 feet. There is also a pedestrain bridge right downstream of the falls which offers wonderful views.

Due to how easy Nineveh Falls is to access, it is often considered a great family-friend waterfall. Dogs are also welcome to join in on the adventure!
