Northeast Harbor

Northeast Harbor is one of the most picturesque harbors in Maine. Over the years, Northeast Harbor has become known as much for its summer residents as it has for its beautiful and protected harbor filled with exclusive yachts and sailing vessels. Many boat builders also call Northeast Harbor home, including the iconic Hinckley Yachts.

The harbor is located on Mount Desert Island’s southern tip, on the western side of the entrance to Somes Sound. Somes Sound was previously referred to as a fjord, but it is now more correctly referred to as a fjard. Acadia National Park is easily accessible from the harbor.
