Poultney River Cascades

Description

Poultney River Cascades is a small set of roadside waterfalls in Poultney, Vermont. The small waterfall features two different sets of cascades which both drop about 5 feet. Both have nice pools at their bases which can be fun to swim in during hot summer days.

The falls can be found right along the Poultney River, hence its name. The river features a solid water flow year-round which means the falls typically can be found in good condition.

Accessing the upper and lower waterfalls is super easy, in fact, they can be seen right along Route VT-140. There are pullover spots just feet from both of the waterfalls. Visitors are welcome to park along the road and admire the falls. There is the potential to scramble down to the base of the falls, but steep terrain and guardrails make this hard. Overall, this is a nice set of roadside waterfalls, but nothing to go out of the way to see.
