About This Location

Sanderson Brook Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in Chester, Massachusetts. The waterfall has a total height of 60 feet and it can be found along Sanderson Brook. Sanderson Brook flows strongest during spring when the snow melts and after heavy rainstorms. Although it is best to explore the waterfall in the spring, Sanderson Brook Falls is a great spot to visit year-round. The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation consisting of horsetails and cascades. There is also a small and shallow pool at the base of the falls.

Accessing the waterfall is simple and relatively easy. The waterfall is located in the Chester-Blandford State Forest which features a well-marked trail system. Visitors can park in the lot along Sanderson Brook Road and then hike about 1 mile (one-way) to the falls. The majority of the hike is along Sanderson Brook Road until the last 1/10 of a mile when hikers take a small spur to the falls. The waterfall trail is family-friendly and a great way to get some hiking in. Dogs are also allowed on the trail and through the entirety of Chester-Blandford State Forest.

Goldmine Brook Falls is another awesome waterfall located just down the road.
