Description
Saxtons River Falls is a pretty little waterfall and swimming hole located in Rockingham, Vermont. The waterfall drops about 10 feet and it can be found along its namesake river, Saxtons River. Saxtons River features a large watershed and it often can be found roaring year-round. For this reason, the waterfall is a wonderful place to visit year-round.
The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation consisting mainly of cascades. Photographers often love the waterfall because they can capture long exposure waterfall of it along with the bridge in the background. At the base of the falls is a wonderful pool. It is known as a good swimming hole among locals. During hot summer days, you’re bound to see a few people wading around in the pool.
Accessing the waterfall is super easy. The waterfall is located on public property and can be found just off Main Street. Visitors can park on the road and then walk down River Street to get right to the falls. It just takes a minute or two to get to the falls after parking. Ultimately, this a wonderful waterfall and swimming hole to visit with kids, and dogs are allowed too!
