Umpachene Falls

Description

Umpachene Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in New Marlborough, Massachusetts. The waterfall has a total height of 40 feet and it can be found along the Umpachene River. Umpachene River flows strongest during spring when the snow melts and after heavy rainstorms. Although it is best to explore the waterfall in the spring, Umpachene Falls is a great spot to visit year-round.

The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation consisting of slides and cascades. It is a popular spot among photographers due to the many drops and different viewpoints. Photographers often bring tripods to capture wonderful long-exposure photos of the falls.

One great aspect of the falls is that they are extremely easy to access. The waterfall is located in Umpachene Falls Park which features a well-marked trail system. Visitors can park in the dedicated lot off Umpachene Falls Road and then hike just a few hundred feet to the falls. The waterfall trail is family-friendly and a great way to get some hiking in. Dogs are also allowed on the trail and through the entirety of the park.
