Description
Walnut Beach is often considered to be one of the greatest beaches in Connecticut. The beach is located in Milford, Connecticut on the shores of the Long Island Sound. It features a sandy beach, hundreds of parking spots, food concessions, picnic areas, restrooms, and a boardwalk. The boardwalk stretches about a mile long all the way to Silver Sands State Park to the east. There is also a pier that goes out over the water.
Walnut Beach is a great spot to spend a summer day swimming, tanning, relaxing, and fishing. It is also a lovely spot to visit in the off-season to walk and take in views. A big plus to visiting in the off-season is that fees are not charged to enter and park at the beach.
Photographers often flock to the beach early in the morning because it is one of the best sunrise spots in Connecticut. Looking for more great spots to explore nearby? Check out the GoXplr Connecticut Map at goxplr.com/map/connecticut!
