Description

Warren Covered Bridge is a beautiful covered bridge located in Warren, Vermont. It is also sometimes referred to as the Lincoln Gap Covered Bridge. The bridge was built in 1880 and was extensively restored in the year 2000. This bridge brings Covered Bridge Road over the Mad River. It spans 58 feet long and is about 14 feet wide. It is currently open to pedestrians and cars.

The bridge is constructed with queen post trusses. According to a notice placed on the bridge by the Vermont Festival of the Arts, this bridge has a singular quirk in that the eastern portal extends longer over the oncoming roadway than the western portal. The National Register of Historic Places is the authorized list of the United State’s historic places worthy of preservation. Authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect America’s historic and archeological resources.
