Westfield Falls

Description

Westfield Falls is a beautiful waterfall located just off Miner Street in Middletown, Connecticut. The falls are actually made up of two separate falls. The first waterfall drops 15 feet and it falls in a horsetail formation. The second waterfall drops 20 feet and it is a straight plunge. Both are fueled by Fall Brook, which flows most powerfully are heavy rainfall or during the spring when snow is melting and flowing into the brook.

One of the greatest aspects of the waterfall is how accessible it is. There is a small parking area off Miner Street and the falls are just a few hundred feet from the parking area. It should be noted that the falls are just a few hundred feet from a major highway, Route 91. Explorers of the waterfall will hear the loud traffic nearby which is a bit odd considering how lovely and natural the falls are.
