White Hills Brook Cascade is a small and very seasonal waterfall located in Shelton, Connecticut. The waterfall has a total height of about 20 feet and it can be found along White Hills Brook. White Hills Brook flows strongest during spring when the snow melts and after heavy rainstorms. It really is not worth visiting the cascades unless the brook is flowing strong. Oftentimes, outside of the springtime, only a trickle of water flows down the waterfall.

The waterfall itself features a unique formation of both a fan and a slide. There are two different falls which make up the White Hills Brook Cascade. The upper falls drop 8 feet in a slide formation with a shallow pool at the base. The lower falls drop about 12 feet in a fan formation.

Accessing the waterfall is relatively easy. The waterfall is located in the Birchbank Mountain Public Open Space which features a well-marked trail system. There are multiple parking areas, but we recommend parking within the paved spaces along Indian Well Road. The hike to the falls is 0.50 miles one-way from this parking area. The waterfall trail is family-friendly and a great way to get some hiking in. Dogs are also allowed on the trail and through the entirety of the open space.
