Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park encompasses diverse ecosystems, featuring mature white pine and hemlock forests, a salt marsh estuary, and rugged shorelines hugging Casco Bay and the Harraseeket River.

One of the park's most iconic inhabitants is the osprey, which makes its home on the nearby Googins Island. Visitors can learn about these magnificent birds through interpretive panels along the trail, offering insights into their life cycle. Ospreys summer on the island and embark on an annual migration to South America each fall. Guided nature walks with the Park Naturalist provide a chance to observe osprey nests up close using high-powered lenses, and guests can discover that these birds are known to mate for life.

The Casco Bay Trail, a popular route within the park, treats visitors to breathtaking coastal vistas, allowing them to admire nearby islands such as Eagle and Cousin. Parking at Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park is accommodated by a circular parking lot along Wolfe's Neck Road, providing space for approximately 50 cars. During the summer months, a parking fee is collected at the entrance gate.
