Description
Day Pond Brook Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in Day Pond State Park in Colchester, Connecticut. The waterfall drops 40 feet in total, with the tallest single drop being about 10 feet. The waterfall is powered by Day Pond Brook which flows through the waterfalls gorgeous plunges, cascades, and horsetails. The brook flows hardest after rainy day and during the spring when snow is melting. That said, it is a wonderful waterfall to visit year-round.
There are several different hiking routes that bring explorers to Day Pond Brook Falls. The shortest and easiest route is by walking along Day Pond Road for about 0.85 miles to the waterfall. This section of the road is closed off to vehicles and is only used by emergency vehicles. This means the route is relatively flat and wide. Eventually, hikers will get to the waterfall area where there is a short spur trail around it.
