Galloway Brook Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in Barre, Massachusetts. The waterfall has a total height of about 50 feet and it can be found along Galloway Brook. Galloway Brook flows strongest during spring when the snow melts and after heavy rainstorms. Although it is best to explore the waterfall in the spring, Galloway Brook Falls is a great spot to visit year-round. The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation. There is an old stone dam which flows into a waterfall consisting of cascades and horsetails.

Accessing the waterfall is relatively easy. The waterfall is located in the Cook’s Canyon Wildlife Sanctuary which features a well-marked trail system maintained by the Mass Audubon. Visitors can park in the dirt lot on South Street and then hike about a half mile to the falls. Follow Cook’s Canyon Trail to reach the waterfall. The trail is family-friendly and a great way to get some hiking in. Sadly, dogs are not allowed to visit Galloway Brook Falls considering the Mass Audubon Society has a strict no dog policy for this sanctuary.
