Indian Rock Falls is a small waterfall located in Madison, Connecticut. The waterfall has a total height of about 15 feet and it can be found along an unnamed stream. The stream flows strongest during spring when the snow melts and after heavy rainstorms. This stream is extremely seasonal and often only a trickle of water can be seen. It is truly best after a rainy day or during the snow melt season. The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation consisting of small plunges and cascades.
Accessing the waterfall is relatively easy. The waterfall on public property owned and maintained by the Madison Land Conservation Trust. The land features a well-marked trail system. Visitors can park at the end of Lake Drive and then hike about 0.45 miles one-way to the falls. The waterfall trail is family-friendly and a great way to get some hiking in. Dogs are also allowed on the trail and through the entirety of the land.
Overall, this truly is not a great waterfall. But, if you are visiting the Indian Rock Shelters, be sure to give this waterfall a look.
