Pine Brook Covered Bridge is a stunning covered bridge located in Waitsfield, Vermont. The bridge was built in 1872 to bring North Road over Pine Brook.  The bridge spans 48 feet long and is about 14 feet wide. It is currently open to pedestrians and cars. It should be noted that it is a single-lane bridge.

The Pine Brook covered bridge consists of a single span supported by two flanking timber kingpost trusses. Two logs have been positioned upright in the stream bed to give temporary aid to the center of the trusses. The bridge sits on abutments built of uneven stone slabs laid dry.

On June 13, 1974, this wonderful covered bridge received the honor of being listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of the Nation’s historic places worthy of conservation and protection. Authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places is part of a federal program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect America’s historic and archeological resources. The NRHP Reference number for Pine Brook Covered Bridge is 74000264. Its world guide number is 45-12-12.
