Steps Beach

Description

Steps Beach is arguably one of the most beautiful beaches on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts. The beach is named for the beautiful stairway leading down to the beach from Cliff Road. The stairway has become one of the most photographed sights on Nantucket. In the spring and summer, visitors can see stunning beach roses on either side of the staircase. The beach below features lovely soft white sand and commanding views of Nantucket Sound. There is gentle surf and warm water in the summer making it the perfect place to swim, catch some sun, and walk. It’s also an iconic sunset spot.

Steps Beach sits between Dionis Beach and Jetties Beach. There is essentially no parking for the beach, so it is best to bike or walk from downtown to it. Additionally, you can walk to Steps Beach from the nearby beaches. Visit during the off-season months or early in the morning to avoid the crowds.
