Description
Agassiz Basin is a lovely small waterfall located in Woodstock, New Hampshire. In total, the waterfall drops about 20 feet and it can be found right along Mount Moosilauke Brook. The brook’s source is Mount Moosilauke, so it often flows strongest during the springtime when the snow is melting. Due to this, it is best to visit Agassiz Basin during the spring to witness the most water flowing. The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation consisting of multiple plunges, cascades, and pools.
Although many photographers flock to the basin during the spring to capture the most water flow, it is a popular spot to visit year-round. Many locals love going to Agassiz Basin on hot summer days because the small pools at the waterfall are perfect for cooling off. Additionally, the basin is lovely during the fall when the foliage-covered trees surround the flowing water.
