Description
Georgiana Falls is a captivating waterfall located in Lincoln, New Hampshire. The waterfall drops about 30 feet in total and can be found along Harvard Brook. Harvard Brook flows strongest during spring when the snow melts and after heavy rainstorms. Considering the water flow is often greatest in the spring, the months of March, April, and May are recommended for visitors. That said, Georgiana Falls is a great spot to visit year-round.
The waterfall itself drops in a unique formation consisting of plunges, cascades, and a fan. There is also a lovely pool at the base of the falls. Adventurous visitors often wade around in the pool during the summer months.
Accessing the waterfall is relatively easy. The waterfall is located in the Second Presidential State Forest which is just south of Franconia Notch State Park. The Second Presidential State Forest features well-marked and well-maintained trails. One of the highlights of the forest is definitely Georgiana Falls. Visitors of the falls can park at the end of Georgiana Falls Road and then hike 0.68 miles to the falls. Ultimately, the trail out-and-back is 1.34 miles and features an elevation gain of 233 feet.
The trail is family-friendly and dogs are allowed too. If you’re looking to see another great waterfall and do more hiking, be sure to check out Harvard Falls too! Harvard Falls is also sometimes referred to as Georgiana Upper Falls.
